At the ICOPLAST World Congress, the ICOPLAST Award of Excellence recognizes a Trainee's best presentation or paper. The selection is based on the presentation during the Congress and is awarded during the farewell ceremonies.

Trainees also have the opportunity to enter a country-based medical competition at the ICOPLAST World Congress. The best three teams, according to the knockout system, receive an award.
